Friday 23rd May - Monday 26th May 2014
Experience the beautiful countryside of Kosovo, a little-known part of Europe, for a 4-day cycle challenge in the spring of 2014. Riding between 57km and 104 km per day, there will be time for some wonderful sight-seeing en route. It's a fun and friendly expedition intended for any competent cyclists having done adequate preparation - see Training Info. We will encourage and support everyone who takes part.
Kosovo is a society still in recovery from the conflicts of the late 1990s. It is set in stunning scenery in the heart of Europe and is home to people of diverse cultures. This is a chance to see a country which isn't on the normal tourist trail and help its people along the way.
We ask for a registration fee of £100 and agreement to raise a minimum sponsorship (£250) for Hope and Aid Direct to support vulnerable families in Kosovo, in return for which we will provide full support during the event: a signed route, stewards, luggage transfers, cyclist transfers (as and when necessary), medical and mechanical support, snacks and soft drinks along the route.
Participants will be required to pay the cost of their flights, accommodation, bike hire (where required), insurance and meals. More details of flight and transfer options will be provided prior to the event. We will make flight, accommodation and bike reservations, for which the costs are likely to be in the region of £650 (see FAQs).
Bike hire is available for those who do not wish to transport their own bikes - see Bike Hire page under the Event tab.
